Position Overview:
Polypeptide Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst Manager to join our Procurement & Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Global Director of Procurement, this role is crucial in driving our strategy and decision-making processes within a dynamic peptide CDMO environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst will analyse procurement and supply chain data/processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and cost savings. This role will also focus on inventory redistribution, global raw material forecasting, and spend analytics to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence in conjunction with the Director Global Procurement.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and interpret (spend) data related to procurement and supply chain activities.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to provide visibility into procurement performance and trends.
- Define and manage addressable spend categories.
- Support data classification, cleansing, and reporting to ensure accurate spend visibility.
- Provide insights into spending patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and supplier consolidation.
- Develop and implement automated solutions for spend tracking and analysis.
Inventory Management
- Support the efficient management of (excess) inventories by providing necessary data aggregation, insights, risk exposure report/analysis and recommendations.
- Analyze stock levels and inventory movement to improve inventory turnover.
- Identify opportunities related to mutual inventories across global locations to optimize stock levels – incl. analysis of commercial contracts.
Global Raw Material Forecasting
- Collect and consolidate global material forecasts for key starting materials.
- Share accurate forecasts with respective suppliers to improve planning and supplier alignment.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust recommendations based on market trends and demand shifts.
Supplier Management & Process Improvement
- Assist in supplier performance evaluation process based on quality, cost, and delivery metrics.
- Assist in supplier negotiations and contract reviews by providing data-backed insights/reports.
- Analyze current procurement and supply chain processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Recommend and implement improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs.
- Support the automation of procurement and supply chain processes using relevant tools and systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a liaison between procurement, supply chain, and other business units and facilitate communication
- Ensure the engagement of stakeholders in procurement processes and ensure the maintenance of a consistent, objective and transparent approach
- Provide data and insights to support decision-making by senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Data Science or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA will have additional merit.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are advantageous.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Procurement and 2–5 years of experience in a business analysis role within procurement or supply chain.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Qlik, Tableau).
Knowledge of systems / tools related to procurement – incl. ERP and reporting systems (SAP, AX, SRM).
Strong understanding of procurement / supply chain processes, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
Experience with inventory management and forecasting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Fluent in business-level English
Is a merit:
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects across organizations and on a global scale
• Experience in a CDMO or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Certification in APICS (CPIM), CPSM, or Six Sigma is a plus.
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Availability for travel (especially in the onboarding phase)
