The role is part of Global IS/IT and will be central in supporting PolyPeptide’s digitalization journey by aligning business strategy, IT, and Operational Technology (OT).
This is a unique opportunity to join an organization where Enterprise Architecture is still evolving and where you will have significant influence on frameworks, governance, processes, and future direction. You will work across the full architecture landscape, from defining “as-is” and “to-be” states to enabling scalable and secure solutions across applications, infrastructure, data, manufacturing, and business processes.
You will collaborate closely with architects, IT/OT teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to support strategic initiatives, drive standardization, and establish architectural governance across the organization.
The role requires a pragmatic and hands-on Enterprise Architect who thrives in complex environments and enjoys building structure, driving adoption, and influencing stakeholders across both IT and business.
Key Responsibilities
Define, develop, implement and continuously mature the enterprise architecture practice to ensure alignment with business strategy and long-term organizational goals, including architecture roadmaps, governance structures, standards, and “as-is/to-be” landscapes
Drive the integration and alignment of IT and OT systems, ensuring scalable and secure interoperability across applications, infrastructure, data, and manufacturing environments
Act as a strategic advisor by translating business needs into sustainable architecture decisions and effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Establish and evolve architecture governance, frameworks, and ways of working to support decision-making and ensure alignment across projects, technologies, and initiatives
Drive adoption and understanding of Enterprise Architecture across the organization by educating, influencing, and collaborating with stakeholders across both IT and business
Lead and facilitate architecture forums and cross-functional collaboration across IT, OT, infrastructure, security, compliance, ERP, and business domains
Support and guide architecture-related initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide objectives, integration principles, and future-state architecture
Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and architectural approaches that support scalability, standardization, and long-term business value
Contribute to the continuous improvement and simplification of the IT/OT landscape by identifying optimization opportunities and reducing complexity across the organization
Important stakeholders
Business stakeholders across manufacturing and operations
IT and OT leadership
Infrastructure, security, ERP, and integration teams
Architects across multiple domains
Global Process Owners and project teams
Your Profile
To succeed in this role, you bring solid experience within Enterprise Architecture from complex manufacturing environments where IT and business closely interact.
We expect that you have:
+8 years of experience within Enterprise Architecture in complex IT/OT manufacturing environments
Experience working with global manufacturing landscapes and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives
Hands-on experience implementing EA frameworks, governance structures, and architecture tools (preferably LeanIX and SAP Signavio)
Solid understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, system architectures, and integration landscapes
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence across both IT and business functions
Experience navigating complex organizational landscapes with many stakeholders and dependencies
Ability to drive, model, and evaluate scalable architecture solutions in a complex environment
Fluent verbal and written English
Experience from pharmaceutical manufacturing, CDMO, life sciences, chemical production, food production, or other regulated industries is considered highly relevant.
Personal characteristics
You are a self-driven and pragmatic Enterprise Architect who enjoys building structure and driving initiatives in evolving environments.
You are comfortable navigating complexity and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. At the same time, you are a strong communicator who can educate, influence, and align stakeholders across both technical and business domains.
You thrive in collaborative environments and are motivated by driving long-term transformation and organizational maturity.
