ABOUT THE ROLE
As Global EHS Management System Specialist, you will play a key role in shaping and driving PolyPeptide's global Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) strategy. Reporting to the Global EHS Director, you will lead the harmonization of EHS management systems, EHS operational practices, and security standards across all PolyPeptide sites worldwide.
You will work closely with local EHS teams, site leadership, Quality, Engineering, and Sustainability stakeholders to establish a consistent Group-wide approach while fostering knowledge sharing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
This position can be based in Sweden (Malmö), Belgium (Braine-l'Alleud) or France (Strasbourg) and requires approximately 20% travel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Global EHS Management System
Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of a harmonized Global EHS Management System across all PolyPeptide manufacturing sites.
Develop and maintain Global EHS procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Drive standardization of EHS practices, KPIs, risk assessments, reporting processes, and management reviews.
Promote best practice sharing and alignment across the global EHS community.
Coordinate environmental reporting activities related to:
Chemicals and hazardous substances
Water management and stewardship
Waste management
Pollution prevention
Support the preparation of ESRS disclosures and sustainability reporting requirements.
Ensure environmental data quality, consistency, and audit readiness across all sites.
EHS Digital Tools
Act as Global Process Owner for key EHS digital platforms and reporting systems.
Manage global processes related to Safety Data Sheets (SDS), EHS event escalation, supplier assessments, and EHS performance reporting.
Drive continuous improvement of EHS digital solutions and reporting capabilities.
Incident Management & Continuous Improvement
Maintain and improve processes for EHS reporting, investigation, and trend monitoring of EHS events.
Ensure consistent application of root cause analysis methodologies across all sites.
Coordinate the communication of lessons learned and best practices.
Security Standardization
Lead the development and harmonization of global site security standards.
Support sites in deploying Group requirements related to: Physical security, Access control, Contractor security, Emergency preparedness
Support site security assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
Global EHS Audit Program
Develop, maintain, and coordinate the Global EHS Audit Program.
Organize cross-site EHS audits and auditor training activities.
Lead follow-up of audit findings and corrective action plans
Monitor effectiveness of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support customer audits, regulatory inspections, and ISO certification audits.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education
Master's degree in: Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability Or a related field
Experience
5-8 years of experience in EHS management within chemical, pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments
Demonstrated experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems.
Experience implementing management systems across multiple sites or international organizations.
Proven experience leading EHS audits and management system implementation across multiple sites
Experience managing EHS digital tools and reporting platforms.
Experience in sustainability reporting
